Bio

I would like to give you a small glance of who I am.  My name is Lisa Beckler Dempsey.  I am the daughter of Ray Beckler (of Polk County, TN) and Marcia Davenport Beckler (of Knox County, TN).  I have two older brothers, Tommy and Jon.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, TN and attended both city and county schools while growing up.  I graduated from Cleveland High School in 1991.  I then attended Cleveland State Community College for two years before transferring to Berry College in Rome, GA.  I graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor of Science degree for Early Childhood Education. I have also received a Masters of Science and Education in Classroom Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University.

I began teaching in the fall of 1996 at Cohutta Elementary in Cohutta GA.  While at Cohutta Elementary, I taught small group resource classes in the areas of reading and math.  Three years later, I resigned from the Georgia school system and began teaching for the Bradley County School System at Hopewell Elementary.  During my three years at Hopewell, I taught After three years at Hopewell, I was transferred to Waterville Community Elementary where I am currently teaching 2nd grade.

I have one daughter born in 1996, Kasen Marie Beckler-DiGennaro.  As all mothers are, I am proud to call her mine.  She is a joy and a pleasure to everyone she meets.  Kasen attended Bradley County Schools (Kindergarten through 12th grade) and I am very pleased with the education, as well as the experiences and opportunities, my child has received through Bradley County Schools.

I married my husband, Jason Dempsey, in the summer of 2007.
